BIG BANG .....

Dear Bug,

Well our Summer came to a quick end!  You are loving Pre-school more and more each day.  For awhile there you would cry when Momma dropped you off, but your teachers told Momma that once you were greeted by familiar faces of your friends your tears disappeared.  As soon as Momma walks into the front door though you are so happy to see her.  You are learning so much and so fast!  Momma and Papa are so proud!

You still love to dress up.  You'll find anything to put on yourself to make a complete outfit.

Momma will sometimes bring home some discounted jewelry from her work for you to dress up in.  Who doesn't love cheap jewelry?!

And who could forget your obsession with Momma's shoes!
Don't you worry Bug Momma will keep all her shoes for you to wear!

Can you believe how big you're getting!  Momma and Papa will joke that you are acting like a baby...You instantly yell back, "I not a baby!  I Layla!"

You love all the hand me down clothes and shoes Molly and Sarah send you.  Soon these black shoes will fit you, you'll still wear them no matter what the size is.

After your first two weeks of school you got your first sickness.  Momma heard you coughing one night and into the morning.  The sound no Momma wants to hear, the terrifying bark cough....Momma took you straight into the doctor that morning.  They confirmed you were possibly in the early stages of croup, but since Momma caught it so fast they said we could handle it fast!  Momma went straight home and turned the AC on!  65 degrees it was for days!  And it sure helped that cough of yours.  The doctor did give you medicine to take as well, but you knew that rest was what you really needed...So who better to cuddle with?  BO and Walt-air!

Such good snuggle pups!

And who could forget Dramma?!  She came over to see how you were feeling and you two of course played beauty shop.

Beautiful hair!

Papa had a few car shows he attended this summer.  One night at the park we went and met him with his beauty.

You're always up for fun in the park no matter what the occasion is!

You love each and every opportunity you have to help clean the truck!

Such a great shiner your are!

While we waited for the winners to be picked we shared some juice....

and played in the park!

Momma couldn't believe how daring you were...

Brave little girl!

You used to be so terrified about the tunnels at the park.  Even if someone you knew went first through them...you never followed.  But now look!  All by yourself, you are in and out.
Papa didn't win anything this time, but we sure had a great family night together!

At the end of the summer we traveled up to Great Grandma and Grandpa Kinser's cabin for Great Grandpa Skip's Birthday.  You are still terrified of Great Grandpa, but you should be because he teases you all the time!
You played outside with Papa most of the day, you were smart...stayed clear of Great Grandpa.

Papa took you for a nice walk up to the canyon.

What a beauty you are Layla Lynn!

One night while Momma was at work Papa made a fort for you and the pups!  Which you all thoroughly enjoyed.

The ice cream truck made it's way through our neighborhood a few times.  We caught her this time and you insisted on picking You and Papa's ice cream treat. mmmm...mmm...mmm

Aunt Kelly and Uncle Mat came to visit Dramma from Florida for a few days and couldn't leave without seeing their Layla Bug.
We took them down to Main Street to window shop and play in the water of course!
This is your favorite part of the whole street!

Little did we know in just a few days you would have an accident...
After Momma got off work one Sunday, she was cooking dinner in the kitchen while you played on the high stool by our kitchen island.  Before Momma could blink you had face planted onto the tiled floor.  Momma and Papa immediately picked you up and examined you....You seemed ok at the moment just very scared.  Momma gave you some Tylenol and sat with you for a few minutes...but once you put pressure on your right wrist you jumped up and screamed in pain.  Momma swung you up and yelled to Papa that we were headed to the ER.  Momma held back tears as she called Dramma to take us to the ER.  Dramma works at a nice hospital and has many doctor and nurse friends so we got right in.
Of course once we got back to a room you were as happy as could be and flinging your little hands around like nothing happened.
Dramma always helps the pain too.

The ER Doc insisted we get a an x-ray of what you like to call, "Layla Bones!"  And wouldn't you know, you fractured your right wrist.  It was a tiny break, but still needed casting.  They gave you a soft cast and informed Momma to call the orthopedic doc in the morning for a follow up.

Dr. K examined your arm and fitted you for a hard cast.  He said you were to stay in the cast for four weeks then to come back in to get it off.  At first you were not happy about the cast, but got used to it very quickly.  Momma has never broke a bone in her life.  She was so heart broken to see you get hurt.

After we got your cast on we traveled across the street to see Dramma.  She was the first to sign your cast and of course dried your tears to make you a happy girl again.

What a lousy way to end your summer huh?!  But your cast was off before you knew it...and your Birthday came just as fast....

Love you Layla Lynn,
Momma and Papa
